Long Overdue

I can't believe it's been two years since I posted anything about Johnny. Just as with the rest of you it's be a tumultuous time. Retirement, pandemic, health issues (yours, mine and ours), simply a disruption in The Force. There are some good things on the horizon. I (we) are on the mend, but not out-of-the-woods, and Johnny is heading back to Hilton Head, this time for Mercedes Freude (the MBCA National Convention), and to appear at Legends East. Hooray!

Johnny is also going to appear, hopefully, in an article (much based upon this blog) in The Star magazine, the bi-monthly magazine of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America.

Sadly, we missed two local shows in recent weeks due to unforeseen events, but we press on. Soon it will be time for Johnny to go into hibernation, but for now we are enjoying the mostly great Fall weather.

We recently replaced Johnny's heater control valve and secondary water pump. The first because the heater has never operated properly and the second prophylactically. when I say we, I mean my old friend Chip who was a long-time mechanic, service and ultimately operations manager at a local  Mercedes-Benz dealership.

Yesterday, Johnny received a detail in preparation for Legends, even though he was pretty clean to begin with. Frankly, for the cost of the detail I was a bit disappointed, especially considering the price. The detailer did not attend to the door jams and frankly, it didn't appear as if the car's appearance improved much overall. Like most things, I find it comes out much better if I just do it myself. This is not always feasible or convenient, but it is becoming more of a necessity.

I'll try and remember to hop on here and update the blog, which I've been so negligent in doing, during the week of Freude and Legends.

TTFN,

Brad
